As an educator, it is vital that we are capable of responding to any situation as a proactive individual rather than reacting. If I were to be reactive at my work site, it would not allow me to develop effective and productive relationships with my peers. Actions should not be blamed but rather learn from them and respond in a way where I will see results that can ultimately influence in other ways.
For this reason I chose my sister as the person within my sphere of influence to retell and teach all of this information to. Her and I have had many skirmishes and fights in the past (like any other siblings) due to our responses coming primarily from our reactions. Learning how to be proactive is something that I thought we could both learn. Although I do not have that much experience in the education field yet, I am determined to learn as much as possible from being proactive so that I get accustomed to not allowing personal feelings and emotions getting in the way of what is meant to be constructive criticism. In conclusion, if I ever plan on moving into an administrative position at a school site/district, my responsibilities need to include being able to choose how I respond to my co-workers.

Robert, I agree that having the right mindset and approach can help diffuse certain situations, especially with siblings :)
